Wizzlefish Launched

December 12th, 2009

So I’ve been wanting to continue drawing webcomics ever since Danger Syndicate was reborn in a different nature (working on a redesign for that, by the way). I’ve spent the last couple of weeks working on Wizzlefish, a comic about really whatever I feel like drawing.

So far, I’m not particularly sure of the direction I’m going to take with it; right now, I’m just drawing in whatever style comes to mind. I’m not sticking to any sort of niche of humor either. My hope is that it will slowly evolve over time until it’s both funny and aesthetically pleasing.

However, I do want to have some sort of drawing crutch. Since I’m no particularly good artist, I figure I would be doing my audience a great service to find some sort of method to remove the drawing element, or at least minimize it as much as possible.

For now, check out the jokes over at Wizzlefish! Let me know what you think!

A Case Study: Introduction

November 3rd, 2009

Welcome, all, to the domain I will call home. This place is going to serve as more than just a blog, a series of rants — it’s going to be the host of the produce of my hobbies. My hobbies, in most cases, yield some sort of material or digital thing, and that’s what I’ve come to present to you here. I’ve got several projects to think about currently: this site, an upcoming webcomic, my photography, my music, some WordPress themes, a decent design for another site I run (with others), NaNoWriMo, if I decide I have enough time; the list goes on.

I found that I just had a lot of stuff I want to do. Things I want to make and show everyone. And what better medium is there for presentation than the Internet? In this place you’ll see all I do: my music, my DJ sets, my videos, my comics, my sketches, my stories, my photography, my web design, my code, the random ideas I come up with and want to put on T-shirts. Hopefully I’ll develop some sort of reader base, so I’m not just speaking on some bleak, isolated, Internet plateau.

So, this series is called “A Case Study,” or, more accurately: “Building a Blog: A Case Study on Myself.” I’m going to attempt to educate all you blogless folks how to make and run one of these things, using WordPress, using myself as an example. It’s really not that hard. I’ve done it before. But I have some special surprises with this site.

First off, here’s my plan:

  • Figure out everything I’m going to put on here.
  • Make a theme to accommodate that.
  • While doing the other two, fill with content.
  • Keep making things.

It’s straightforward. It’s simple. I’ll help you. Don’t worry guys. It’s going to be alright.
